Foaming agents

Adding chemical foaming agents during the processing of plastics can create a wide range of benefits, such as:

•    Form stability

Chemical foaming agents are added at the plastics processing stage. Thermal activation of the foaming agent produces gases in the polymer matrix. When the pressure drops, as the molten polymer enters the injection mould or exits the extrusion head, a foam structure develops in the plastic.

QolorTech has added a diversity of foaming agents to its range of additives, including both exothermic (ACDA) and endothermic (Bicar/MSC), as well as mixtures of the two.
To attain maximum synergy with your type of polymer and the specific processing conditions, foaming agents with different decomposition temperatures can be supplied. We can also provide customised solutions with respect to carrier (e.g. EVA and LDPE), pellet size and concentration of the additive in the masterbatch.
